On October 21, 1941 in Taganrog the first flight of the Soviet flying boat KOR-2 was made. It was a deck catapult boat which carried out functions of near naval reconnaissance and correction of a gun-fire. KOR-2 was developed under the leadership of M. Beriyev therefore has also the second name Be-4. In 1943 — 1945 flying boat was issued by small series. The crew of KOR-2 consisted of 2 people. Flying range made 550-1150 km, and the maximum speed at the height was 356 km/h. Length - 10,5 m, scope of a wing - 12 m. 46 similar planes were in total constructed. Arms — one motionless ShKAS on a nose and one in mobile installation for the shooter. Bombing arms — four FAB-100.
