26 ноября 1965 года впервые был запущен французский космический спутник "Астерикс". Основной целью запуска было испытание ракеты-носителя. Запуск был произведен с космодрома Хаммагир с помощью французской ракеты-носителя Диамант-А. Спутник первоначально назывался А-1, позднее, после выхода на орбиту, был переименован в Astérix в честь известного героя комиксов.
On November 26, 1965 the French space Asteriks satellite was launched for the first time. Test of the carrier rocket was a main objective of the launch. Start was made from the spaceport Hammagir by means of the French carrier rocket Diamant-A. The satellite originally was called as A-1, later, after going into orbit, it was renamed into Astérix in honor of the famous hero of comics.
