Иногда эквилибристы ездят по канату на велосипеде. Известным русским канатоходцем был Фёдор Молодцов. В 1890-х годах Молодцов совершил переходы по канату над реками Темза и Нева, выиграв спор с французским канатоходцем Шарлем Блонденом.
