5 сентября 1997 года в Москве открыт памятник Петру I. Памятник был создан известным советским скульптором Зурабом Церетели. Официальное название памятника "В ознаменование 300-летия российского флота". Он был воздвигнут по заказу Правительства Москвы на искусственном острове. Это один из самых высоких в России памятников. Общая высота памятника 98 метров.
On September 5, 1997 in Moscow the monument to Peter I was presented. The monument was created by a famous Soviet sculptor Zurab Tsereteli. An official name of a monument "In memory of 300-years anniversary of the Russian fleet". It was made by the request of the Moscow Government on the man-made island. It is one of the highest monuments in Russia. The general height of this monument is 98 meters.
