Рубин - это минерал, который применяется в ювелирной и часовой промышленности, а также в квантовой электронике. Искусственные рубины были впервые синтезированы в 1904 году французским химиком Огюстом Вернейлем. Месторождения рубинов встречаются на всех континентах, кроме Антарктиды. Самыми ценными являются азиатские рубины. 2000 лет назад рубины ценились в Индии и использовались в качестве талисманов.

Rubin is a mineral which is used in the jeweler and watch industry, and also in quantum electronics. Artificial rubies were for the first time synthesized in 1904 by the French chemist August Verneyl. Fields of rubins are met on all continents, except Antarctica. Asian rubins are the most valuable. 2000 years ago rubins were appreciated in India and used as mascots.
