On March 29, 1873 the famous Russian writer Lev Nikolaevich Tolstoy began to write the outstanding novel "Anna Karenina". This is a work about tragic love of the married lady Anna Karenina and the brilliant officer Wronski. Tolstoy showed life and customs of residents of St. Petersburg and Moscow of the second half of the 19th century, and also life of noblemen and peasants in the novel.
