5 февраля 1987 года был запущен российский пилотируемый космический аппарат Союз ТМ-2. Запуск был осуществлен с космодрома Байконур. Это была вторая экспедиция на орбитальную станцию "Мир" с двумя членами экипажа. За время этой миссии космонавты выполнили 2 выхода в открытый космос.
