3 апреля 1885 года в Пулково (Россия) родился Борис Андреевич Вилькицкий. Это русский морской офицер, исследователь Арктики. В 1918 году он стал начальником советской гидрографической экспедиции Западно-Сибирского района Северного Ледовитого океана. Именем Вилькицкого были названы острова в море Лаптевых, пролив между Таймыром и Северной Землей, а также залив в Баренцевом море, два мыса и ледник на островах Новая Земля.
On April 3, 1885 Boris Andreevich Vilkitsky was born in Pulkovo (Russia). This is a Russian naval officer, a researcher of Arctic. In 1918 he became the chief of the Soviet hydrographic expedition of the West Siberian region of the Arctic Ocean. Islands in the Laptev Sea, passage between Taimyr and Severnaya Zemlya, and also the gulf in the Barents Sea, two capes and a glacier on islands Novaya Zemlya were called by the name of Vilkitsky.
