Дарвинский заповедник расположен на территории Вологодской и Ярославской областей (Россия). Он был создан 18 июля 1945 года специально для изучения изменений в дикой природе после постройки Рыбинской ГЭС и образования Рыбинского водохранилища в 1941 году. Заповедник получил имя английского естествоиспытателя, основоположника эволюционной теории Чарльза Дарвина.
The Darwin reserve is located in the territory of the Vologda and Yaroslavl districts (Russia). It was created on July 18, 1945 especially for studying of changes in the wild nature after construction of Rybinsk hydroelectric power station and formation of the Rybinsk reservoir in 1941. The reserve has received a name of the English scientist, founder of the evolutionary theory Charles Darwin.
