Национальный парк Алханай расположен в Забайкальском крае. Он был создан 15 мая 1999 года для охраны ландшафтов Забайкалья и культовых мест бурятского народа. Природные комплексы Алханая представляют собой особую экологическую, историческую и эстетическую ценность. В отличие от заповедников, значительные части площади национального парка открыты для публичного посещения. Алханай отличается от других национальных парков России наличием природно-культового комплекса святынь северного буддизма.
The Alkhanay national park is located in Zabaykalsky Krai. It was created on May 15, 1999 for protection of landscapes of Transbaikalia and cult places of the Buryat people. Natural complexes of Alkhanay represent special ecological, historical and esthetic value. Unlike reserves, considerable parts of the area of national park are open for public visit. The Alkhanay differs from other national parks of Russia in existence of a natural and cult complex of shrines of the northern Buddhism.
