Пастила - это сладкое блюдо русской кухни. Пастила известна с XIV в., то есть она относится к древнерусской кухне. Пастилу изготавливали из взбитого пюре кислых яблок, ягод, мёда и яичного белка. В советское время был разработан упрощённый вариант русской пастилы в форме небольших белых брусков, который изготавливается промышленным путём и получил всеобщее распространение. По вкусу он больше напоминает французский зефир.

In Soviet period the simplified version of the Russian fruit candy in the form of small white whetstones which made in industrial way has been developed and has gained general distribution. It tastes like the French marshmallows.
