Today in Russia started Великий Пост (the Great Lent) is the most important fasting season in Orthodox church year, it prepares Christians for the greatest feast Пасха (Easter).
In 2014 Великий Пост will last from 3 March till 19 April.
Пасха this year falls on 20 of April.
