On March 23, 1983 Astron was launched the Soviet ultra-violet telescope. The telescope was put to the orbit onboard the Proton rocket carrier. Astrophysical observations were the purpose of that launch. The telescope has worked on the Earth orbit for six years. In due time it was the largest space telescope.
