Ростральные колонны это архитектурные сооружения в центре Санкт-Петербурга, на Стрелке Васильевского острова. В девятнадцатом веке они выполняли функцию фонарей в порту северной столицы. Фонари зажигались ночью и в туман и служили до 1885 года. Ростральные колонны были возведены в 1810 году по проекту французского архитектора.
Rostral columns are architectural constructions in the center of St. Petersburg, on Spit of Vasilyevsky Island. In the nineteenth century they performed function of lamps in port of the Northern Capital. Lamps were lit at night and in fog and served till 1885. Rostral columns were built in 1810 on the project of a French architect.
