Существует несколько старых русских народных примет связанных с 6 февраля. Если в этот день солнечный - будет хорошая весна. В старину 6 февраля люди гадали о будущих ценах на зерно. Люди пекли хлеб, а потом взвешивали его вечером и на следующее утро. Если утром хлеб был тяжелее, то зерно подорожает. Если вес оставался прежним, то считалось, что цена не изменится. И, конечно, если вес уменьшился, значит, хлеб тоже будет дешевым.

People baked bread, and then weighed it in the evening and the next morning. If in the morning bread heavier, it means grain would rise in price. If its weight remained the same, it was considered that the price woudn't change. And, of course, if its weight decreased, so bread would be cheap.
