On June 4, 1881 Goncharova Natalya Sergeyevna was born. This is a Russian avant-garde artist and a sculptor who has made the significant contribution to development of avant-garde art in Russia. On June 18, 2007 at the evening auction of Christie's in London the Goncharova's picture "Gathering apples" (1909) has been sold almost for ten million dollars, having set thus a historical record of cost of works of female artists.
