On June 14, 1830 in St. Petersburg Kurochkin Nikolay Stepanovich was born. This is a Russian poet, a translator and a publicist. By profession Nikolay Kurochkin was a doctor. He practised private medicine and was a ship doctor. Nikolay Kurochkin has visited France, Italy and the Middle East. In 1847 he published in the Panteon magazine the translation from French of the novel of Arsen Usse "Three sisters". The most known works of Kurochkin are: "The western science on the Russian soil", "European science at home", "Henri Rochfor and his Lamp", "Years of development of Prudon".
